Welcome to Rico’s Restaurant
Rico’s Restaurant opened in 1979 in Ross Township as a family-owned and -operated restaurant. It has since established itself as a Pittsburgh staple. The relationships that Rico’s has built over the past 35 years between customers, servers, chefs, purveyors, and wineries bridge our combined Italian and Pittsburgh heritage.

And Rico’s Restaurant is not just about food, it is also about traditions.

Rico Lorenzini was born in Ponte Buggianese, Tuscany in 1938. At the age of 13, he began training in restaurants and resorts throughout Northern Italy. Immigrating to Pittsburgh at 19 years old, this training landed him a job shortly after his arrival. After working at a Pittsburgh restaurant for nearly two decades, Rico opened his own restaurant as Head Chef and Owner in 1979. Ownership has since transferred to his son, David, as Rico has transitioned into the kitchen. His passion and training are exemplified on the menu as he works closely with Chef Dennis DeLuca. The menu continues to feature daily filleted veal, fish, and beef as well as homemade desserts and sauces.
